Backpacks and handbags basic cleaning
- If the bag has accumulated a small amount of dust clean it with a large brush, of soft bristles. If there is a lot of accumulated dust or if there are other stains, use a lightly damp cloth to clean it; following use a dry cloth and let it dry in a ventilated place.
- In case of bags made with chamois leather, use a brush. If the dirt or stain does not come out, use a blunt knife on the material, take the dirt out and after that use a damp cloth. Let it dry naturally.
- Don’t ever use alcohol or other chemical products. Always prefer water and neutral soap. In case of light color leathers use coconut soap.
- In case the bag is humid, let it dry in a shaded and ventilated place; never in the sun, because it dries out the leather.
- Bags made of synthetic or genuine leather (if a smooth material) can receive sometimes a small coat of shoe polish. Occasionally you can also apply Vaseline on the leather, it helps to avoid splits.
- Always have a small necessaire inside your bag, where you can keep candies, gums, lipsticks and other items, which can cause a great damage inside of the bag; depending on the material it cannot be washed.
